Can you smell it? #4

Whether you live in the country, a small town, or the big city, everyone can enjoy the smell of a summer rain.  The difference's in the smell of the rain can vary as much as the places where it rains.  In the country it even varies to where you are when you encounter the rain.  When you are out in the fields the scents of the crops are amplified as the dust is washed off.  In the forests the scent of the pine needles comes to life.  In the fall when it rains the smell of wet straw and chaff fill the air.   Since I've moved to town I've noticed the smell of rain is more of a cleansing smell.  The road dust and grime settles and floats away in the gutters.  The scent of all the flowers and trees flood the senses as you watch the raindrops drip off their petals and leaves.  It's a renewing time that fills the soul with peace and hope.
